Potato Home Fries are an easy recipe that the whole family will love. Homemade home fries are a great balance of nutritious and comforting, serve with scrambled eggs for the perfect breakfast! To change it up: you can add in any of your favorite seasonings, mix in mushrooms and bell pepper with the onion, and can even leave out the salt and use oil for a low sodium dish.

Ingredients:

  • 3 medium russet potatoes, cubed
  • 2 Tbsp butter or oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Chopped white or yellow onion, optional
Main Ingredient(s): Onions, Potatoes

Steps:

  • Cut potatoes into cubes. Rinse and drain well.
  • Melt butter or oil in large skillet over medium heat.
  • Place potatoes in skillet and stir to coat with the butter or oil.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Cover with a lid and cook for 10 minutes.
  • Remove the lid, add onions if desired, and cook for another 10 minutes.
  • For crunchy home fries use oil, do not cover, and do not stir as often.
